Tour de Fronds 2008 - June 14th

Tour de Fronds (TdF) is a premier Southern Oregon cycling tour sponsored by Umpqua Velo Club, the Community Action Response Team of Glendale, and the Powers Action Team.

The event uses a fully paved back road route between the communities of Glendale and Powers in beautiful Southern Oregon.  Much of the route is on US Forest Service or BLM land through the remote regions of the Siskiyou National Forest and borders on the Wild Rogue Wilderness.  Congressman Peter DeFazio was instrumental in getting the route established in 1998.  2008 will be the eleventh edition of the Tour de Fronds.

Due to the remoteness of this route, few cyclists have an opportunity to ride these roads unsupported – attending this event offers a rare glimpse of nature’s finest; waterfalls, rivers, majestic fir trees, mosses, lichens and ferns.  The Tour de Fronds, so aptly named, is a nature lovers ideal ride.
