The Tour de Fronds is completely volunteer run. All proceeds are distributed to local organizations that are dedicated to Powers community improvement.
In 2016, the Tour de Fronds distributed more than $5000 in proceeds. Beneficiaries included:
- Lions Club - funds used to bring the a mobile eye doctor to our elementary school to screen children and provide glasses, pay for Cub Scout administration fees, hearing aid purchases, purchase community fireworks for our 4th of July White Cedar Days celebration, and purchase the City of Powers Christmas lights.
- Lioness Club - a community defibrillator was purchased which as already saved numerous lives.
- HAM Radio Club - these volunteers track the progress of every TdF rider and ensure quick communication in case of emergencies.
- Powers Cheerleaders - these young ladies (elementary grades) bring school spirit to Cruiser football, volleyball, and basketball games.
As you ride, thank a volunteer. Without these dedicated people, the Tour would be unable to continue and unable to bring support to these community organizations.
